
Four high schools offered robotics and engineering programs in District of Columbia Public Schools this summer:

Eligible high school students participated in the Summer Technology Enrichment work-study program (STEP), which was co-sponsored by the Department of Employment Services and was part of the Mayor Fenty's Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP).
Teams of students built and programmed robots using LEGO MINDSTORM NXT and TEXTRIX kits and the RobotC programming language. Teams competed in a citywide competition at Phelps on Wednesday, August 4, 2010.
